Description
Nitrogen generator is based on the principle of PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) and uses the carbon molecular sieves as adsorbent. Under the certain pressure, the N2 can be separated from the air when the compressed air goes through the adsorption columns by the compressing and de-pressing. As O2 molecular moves faster than N2 in the carbon molecular sieves, and the oxygen molecular will be adsorbed first so the nitrogen moleculaar can be collected, which is nitrogen gas.
When nitrogen gas is released, the carbon molecular sieves would be de-pressed to release the oxygen molecular, which is called regeneration. Nomally, PSA nitrogen generator has two columns, one for adsoption and the other for regeneration. The system is controlled PLC and valves, so it can keep running without stopping.
