Review
Description
The Gifford-McMahon (GM) cryocooler was invented by William Gifford and Howard McMahon. Its refrigeration principle is based on the adiabatic expansion of helium gas. The main components of a GM cryocooler include a cold head, helium transfer hoses, and a helium compressor.
Owing to its high reliability, long service life, and ease of operation and control, the GM cryocooler has become the most widely industrialized cryogenic refrigeration technology. It is extensively used in applications such as superconducting equipment, medical imaging systems, semiconductor manufacturing, and scientific research.
For many years, GM cryocoolers were entirely dependent on technology and products from USA and Japan. This Chinese originated GM cryocooler is gaining widespread acceptance worldwide and becoming an attractive alternative for cryogenic refrigeration solution due to its high reliability, competitive pricing, and rapid service response.
